June Cashmere
June Cashmere exists to give Kyrgyz shepherds fair-market access to the world for their cashmere, turning a centuries-old craft into an engine of economic opportunity for remote mountain communities.
On June Cashmere
June Cashmere sources its fiber directly from nomadic shepherds on small family farms high in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, cashmere so fine it's known as "soft gold," gently hand-combed from each goat rather than shorn.
For generations these shepherds had no access to buyers paying what their fiber was worth, so the company travels village to village, purchasing directly and paying fair market value and more, with a tiered system that rewards the highest quality. The result is cashmere with a truly single origin, and a livelihood that honors both the craft and the people behind it.
